About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to provide clinical care services for residents/clients with communication and/or swallowing disorders in Long Term Care and Homecare settings.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, responsible for providing direct care and consultations to enhance, maintain, improve, or restore the client/resident's ability to function at an optimal level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, deliver, and evaluate services through direct assessment, interventions, consultations, and assignment of task components to Rehabilitation Assistants.
  • Provide training to Continuing Care Staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to an environment that is inclusive, non-discriminatory, physically, psychologically, and culturally safe.

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current registration or licensure with a Canadian Professional regulatory body for Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist providing assessments and treatments in a community environment and/or long-term care setting is an asset.
  • Experience supervising support staff is an asset.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a diverse caseload.

Conditions of Employment

  • TB screening.
  • CPR level C (obtained within the past 18 months).
  • Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security Clearance.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Current registration with a Canadian Speech-Language Pathology regulatory body.
  • Food Safe.
  • WHIMIS.

  • Exposure to animals in the Pet Therapy program.
  • Secondhand smoke.
  • Exposure to latex products.
  • Travel within territory.
