Your Responsibilities

We seek a passionate, committed, and proactive individual to deliver clinical services to residents and clients facing communication and/or swallowing challenges. The Speech-Language Pathologist plays a vital role within an interdisciplinary team, providing direct care and consultations aimed at enhancing, maintaining, improving, or restoring clients' functional abilities. Responsibilities include planning, directing, delivering, and assessing services through direct evaluations, interventions, consultations, and delegating tasks to Rehabilitation Assistants. This role may also involve training Continuing Care Staff and engaging in quality improvement initiatives. The incumbent will foster an inclusive environment that is non-discriminatory and safe across physical, psychological, and cultural dimensions.

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current registration or licensure with a Canadian professional regulatory body for Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in community settings and/or long-term care environments is advantageous
  • Experience in supervising support staff is a plus.

  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and evaluating individual and group programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a diverse caseload

Additional Information:

Relocation assistance may be available.

Employment Conditions:

TB screening, CPR level C (obtained within the last 18 months), Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security Clearance, Valid Class 5 Driver's License, current registration with a Canadian Speech-Language Pathology regulatory body, Food Safe, WHMIS.

Job Requirements:

Exposure to animals in the Pet Therapy program; secondhand smoke; exposure to latex products; travel within the territory.
