Your Responsibilities

We seek a motivated and passionate individual to deliver clinical services to clients and residents facing communication and swallowing challenges. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be a vital part of an interdisciplinary team, providing direct care and expert consultations aimed at enhancing, maintaining, or restoring clients' functional abilities. You will be responsible for planning, directing, delivering, and assessing services through direct evaluations, interventions, consultations, and delegating tasks to Rehabilitation Assistants. Additionally, you may provide training to Continuing Care staff and engage in quality improvement initiatives. Your contribution will foster an inclusive, non-discriminatory, and culturally safe environment.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, please submit your resume demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current registration or licensure with a Canadian professional regulatory body for Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in community settings and/or long-term care is an asset
  • Experience in supervising support staff is an asset.

Employment Conditions:

Candidates must meet the following conditions: TB screening, CPR level C (obtained within the last 18 months), Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security Clearance, Valid Class 5 Driver's License, current registration with a Canadian Speech-Language Pathology regulatory body, Food Safe certification, and WHMIS training.

Job Environment:

Candidates should be prepared for exposure to animals in the Pet Therapy program, secondhand smoke, latex products, and travel within the territory.
