Key Responsibilities

The Residential Counsellor will be responsible for:

  • Preparing detailed reports and case histories
  • Engaging in administrative and office tasks
  • Assessing clients' needs for specific services
  • Facilitating life skills workshops
  • Conducting follow-up evaluations
  • Managing housekeeping duties
  • Preparing meals
  • Providing crisis intervention and support
  • Resolving conflicts among clients
  • Supervising activities in group homes and halfway houses
  • Leading individual and group counseling sessions
  • Coordinating with other social service agencies and healthcare providers
  • Maintaining program statistics for evaluation and research
  • Assisting clients with special needs
  • Accompanying clients to appointments and social events
Required Certifications

Candidates should hold the following certifications:

  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
  • Mental Health First Aid Certificate
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
