Position Overview

Work Details

Work Environment

The ideal candidate will engage with clients in various settings, including:

  • Support for individuals with personal and social adjustment issues, including substance abuse and behavioral disorders.
  • Assistance for socio-economic challenges such as housing and financial aid.
  • Programs aimed at pregnant teens and services for the homeless.
Responsibilities

The Residential Counsellor will be responsible for:

  • Preparing detailed reports and case histories.
  • Conducting administrative tasks and office activities.
  • Assessing clients' needs and eligibility for services.
  • Implementing workshops focused on life skills development.
  • Conducting follow-up assessments to monitor client progress.
  • Providing crisis intervention and support during critical situations.
  • Facilitating individual and group counselling sessions.
  • Collaborating with other social service agencies and healthcare providers.
  • Maintaining accurate program statistics for evaluation purposes.
  • Assisting clients with special needs and accompanying them to appointments.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess the following certifications:

  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
  • Mental Health First Aid Certificate
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates
