Position Overview

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is committed to providing comprehensive support services tailored to the needs of youth and their families. Our focus is on addressing the complex challenges faced by young individuals, particularly those from Black and racialized communities, who are navigating the justice system. We aim to create a supportive environment that fosters rehabilitation and personal growth.

We are currently seeking a casual Psychological Assessment Specialist to engage with youth aged 12 to 24 years who are involved with our services and require mental health and/or substance use support. This role involves collaboration with various professionals within our organization and community partners to ensure holistic care for our participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for participants.
  • Administer and interpret psychological tests and measures.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed psychological assessment reports.
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff and families regarding assessment outcomes.
  • Conduct interviews with families and collaborate with team members to gather relevant information.
  • Promote a workplace culture that values diversity, teamwork, and compliance with all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Psychology, with specialized training and experience in working with children and adolescents. Experience in administering standardized tests and interpreting parent and teacher questionnaires is essential. A strong foundation in learning and developmental disabilities is advantageous.

Candidates should have clinical experience with justice-involved youth and demonstrate the ability to provide culturally sensitive care within a multi-disciplinary framework. Lived experience within diverse African, Caribbean, and/or Black communities is highly valued.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are crucial for success in this role. Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and electronic communication, is required. Bilingualism or proficiency in an additional language is considered an asset.
