An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multiskilled Packaging Maintenance Engineer with an electrical focus to join their dynamic team at the Halifax facility.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct both planned and reactive maintenance activities to optimize line performance.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on various PLC-controlled warehouse machinery.
  3. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  4. Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on a variety of automation systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and robotic equipment.
  5. Achieve plant uptime and maintenance KPIs through effective maintenance strategies.
  6. Ensure smooth operation of continuous processes for high-quality product movement and packaging.
  7. Continuously enhance the performance of machinery and systems to support site development.
  8. Collaborate on the establishment of preventative electrical maintenance schedules.
  9. Maintain a strong emphasis on Planned Preventative Maintenance Systems (PPMS).

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Completion of an apprenticeship or NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline, specifically in electrical or manufacturing maintenance engineering.
  2. Experience with packaging machinery, including slicing, dicing, and thermoforming equipment.
  3. Hands-on experience with high-speed packaging machinery in the FMCG sector.
  4. A proactive mindset towards troubleshooting, along with a dedication to continuous improvement and personal growth.
  5. Proficient in computer usage.
