Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Packaging Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background (or a mechanically qualified engineer with substantial electrical expertise) to contribute effectively at their Halifax facility. This role involves working on a rotating shift pattern, focusing on packaging machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct both planned and reactive maintenance to tackle technical challenges, ensuring optimal line efficiency.
  • Perform fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on various PLC-controlled warehouse systems.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance on a variety of automation machinery, including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and robotic systems.
  • Achieve plant uptime and maintenance KPIs through effective preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Support the seamless operation of continuous processes, ensuring high-quality products are efficiently packaged for distribution.
  • Continuously enhance the performance of equipment and systems to foster site development.
  • Establish and agree upon preventative electrical maintenance schedules.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Apprentice trained or possess NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline, specifically in electrical or manufacturing maintenance engineering.
  • Experience with packaging and related machinery such as slicing, dicing, and thermoforming equipment is preferred.
  • Proven experience on high-speed packaging lines within the FMCG industry.
  • Proficient in computer applications.

What We Offer:

  • Shift Pattern: PANAMAS 3'S & 2's.
  • Salary: £48,000 - £53,000 (options for temporary-to-permanent or permanent roles).
