The Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist will ensure the secure and efficient functioning of the Bulk Electric System through engineering operations.

Define essential maintenance standards for protective relaying and manage an adequate inventory of spare parts.
Provide assistance to the Substation Operations and Technical Services engineering teams regarding protective relaying design and functionality.
Operate and maintain disturbance monitoring tools to aid in the analysis, resolution, and documentation of system outages.
Accept new equipment into service on behalf of the Energy Control Centre Operations.

Aid in the planning and coordination of scheduled outages, prepare and authorize switching protocols, and evaluate protection and control needs to facilitate outages, while considering customer impacts, system integrity, economic efficiency, and protection adequacy.

Offer support to system operators concerning protection, control, metering, and outage recovery.

Ensure adherence to reliability and cybersecurity standards relevant to the Protection & Control functions of the organization.

Engage in compliance audits for reliability standards as a Protection & Control expert for Energy Control Centre Operations.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, and be a full member (or eligible for membership) in the local engineering association.

Comprehensive technical expertise in electric utility engineering fields and familiarity with protective relaying systems and procedures is essential.
Proficient computer skills are required.
A valid driver's license and availability for after-hours consultation and emergency power restoration tasks are necessary.
