About the Role
As an Electrical Technologist within the Technical Services division, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and inclusive built environment. Key Responsibilities
You will assist the Technical Services team in supporting the Real Estate and Infrastructure Management Branch by:
- Providing insights during the Capital Planning process.
- Evaluating existing infrastructure and developing project scopes.
- Delivering design services in collaboration with various disciplines.
- Conducting design reviews of submissions from external providers.
- Offering technical support throughout all project phases, from tender to close-out.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A completed program in Electrical Technology or Engineering, along with eight years of relevant experience.
- Certification as an Electrician, Electrical Technician, or Technologist.
- A strong grasp of electrical systems across diverse infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Electrical Design, with experience in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Experience in reviewing construction documents for clarity and compliance.
- Project support experience, including shop submittal reviews and site conformance assessments.
- Experience collaborating with skilled trades, engineers, and architects.
Additionally, familiarity with Nova Scotia's electrical and building codes, strong communication skills, and adaptability to changing requirements are essential.
Working Conditions
This role involves a mix of office and fieldwork, with exposure to construction site hazards. Travel across Nova Scotia may be required, necessitating a valid driver's license.
