Educational Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with mild to moderate learning needs, severe social/emotional behavioral challenges, and/or medical needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students with individual program plans and implement positive behavioral interventions.
- Provide support to students with diverse learning needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Use visual supports, sensory supports, reinforcement schedules, and other strategies to support student learning.
- Facilitate positive peer interactions among students and promote social skills development.
- Provide first aid and CPR as needed.
- Assist with physical activities, such as running and lifting, as required.
- Completion of the Education Assistant Program at MacEwan University or equivalent post-secondary training.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a strong, interdisciplinary team.
- Display a positive approach to students with social-emotional-behavioral needs.
- Experience working with students at the elementary level an asset.
