Position Summary

The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will serve as the leading figure within the Accounting team. This role encompasses the management of all financial and accounting functions for Paquin Entertainment Group, including oversight of cross-border subsidiaries and partnerships. The Vice President will collaborate closely with the COO and senior management on operational challenges and strategic initiatives aimed at driving the company’s growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Division

  • Prepare financial reports for the parent company and its subsidiaries in Canada and the United States.
  • Manage tax planning and the filing of corporate income tax returns for both Canadian and US entities.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and analysis activities.
  • Supervise treasury functions, cash management, investment accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Actively communicate financial matters to the management team, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain relationships with lenders, investors, and financial advisors.
  • Report to external stakeholders, including project investors.
  • Evaluate and advise on new business proposals.

Exhibitions & Theatrical Division

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the President.
  • Lead a specialized team responsible for planning, analysis, and financial reporting for the division and its projects.
  • Design processes and tools to assess business performance and enhance decision-making efficiency.
  • Oversee the exhibition settlement process.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and local partners.

Artist Agency Division

  • Act as a strategic partner to the President.
  • Manage a team of specialists focused on planning, analysis, and financial reporting for the division and its projects.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the live entertainment industry, preferably with a promoter.
  • Demonstrated success in a Director of Finance or similar role.
  • Possession of a CPA designation and a strong understanding of accounting standards.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • A passion for communication, mentorship, and career development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of QuickBooks is essential.
  • Familiarity with US and Canadian corporate income tax, sales taxes, withholding tax requirements, and royalty reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Commercially aware with a solid understanding of business drivers.
  • Organized, deadline-oriented, and skilled at prioritizing tasks.
  • Proactive in identifying issues and developing solutions.
  • Ability to combine analytical thinking with creativity for effective problem-solving.
