Position Overview: Reporting to the Accounting Operations Manager, the Financial Operations Specialist will be integral to a team dedicated to precise and efficient accounting for long-term assets and associated financial statement elements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record journal entries, perform reconciliations, and conduct financial analysis.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting while adhering to accounting standards and internal controls.
- Manage accounting for intangible assets and IT-related resources within the retail division, as well as fixed assets and leases.
Essential Qualifications:
- A university or college degree in accounting or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, either in the corporate sector or with an accounting firm.
- Familiarity with accounting for intangible assets, fixed assets, or leases is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Interest in exploring automation opportunities, including the use of macros, Power Query, and PeopleSoft queries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with Oracle applications like PeopleSoft Financials or Hyperion Financial Management is a plus.
Work Environment: This role requires the ability to work at the head office on a hybrid schedule, with a combination of in-office and remote work.
