Role Overview:

The Head of Global Financial Reporting plays a pivotal role within the Corporate Global Accounting team, overseeing the generation of deliverables driven by the general ledger. This includes supporting consolidated segmented reporting, external financial and regulatory disclosures, as well as unconsolidated financial statements to meet tax and auditor requirements. As a subject matter expert in general ledger operations, you will also engage in various ad-hoc transactions and projects, including M&A activities, tax restructuring, and capital events, providing operational accounting guidance throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly closing processes and deliverables for both internal and external reporting.
  • Spearhead process improvement initiatives for consolidated and unconsolidated reporting, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
  • Provide advisory support to business groups and functional areas on operational accounting for complex transactions, including M&A, tax restructuring, and capital issuances.
  • Oversee legal entity reporting deliverables to support regulatory reporting, business initiatives, tax filings, and compliance.
  • Manage reconciliations between consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Secretary, Regulatory Reporting, Legal, and Business Groups to establish and maintain the Global Entity Management framework and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in large matrix organizations, with a strong understanding of IFRS.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Longview is advantageous.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail while maintaining a broader perspective in complex environments.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with a focus on staff development and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to articulate and resolve complex accounting issues to diverse audiences across business and corporate teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to influence without direct authority and build effective partnerships with finance teams and corporate functions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Salary Range: 105,000
