Exchange Bank of Canada is looking for a motivated professional with a keen eye for detail to fill the role of Global Operations Supervisor (Banknotes).

Role Overview: The Global Operations Supervisor (Banknotes) is a seasoned and proactive individual responsible for overseeing the bank's international banknote operations. This role encompasses data-driven inventory oversight, management of international vendors, and logistics coordination for secure cash transport.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Inventory Oversight:

  • Supervise daily international cash operations, including the execution of banknote transactions.
  • Ensure prompt and precise settlement of international cash dealings.
  • Manage the daily inventory of banknotes, maintaining optimal levels as defined in service level agreements (SLAs).

Logistics Coordination:

  • Oversee logistics for armored carriers, ensuring secure and efficient cash delivery and pickup services in accordance with security protocols.
  • Work with logistics providers to schedule and track shipments while adhering to customs and cross-border regulations.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to enhance tracking capabilities for international shipments.
  • Develop and maintain a pricing framework for international logistics costs as operations expand into new markets.
  • Partner with business development teams to align operational capabilities with market growth objectives.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting:

  • Formulate and implement strategies to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of international cash operations.
  • Work with technology teams to optimize systems and automate processes, leading projects to enhance operational workflows and reduce expenses.
  • Develop, analyze, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess inventory and logistics performance, implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on international cash operations performance.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at refining operational workflows and minimizing costs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engage with internal stakeholders, including treasury, finance, risk management, and compliance teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, correspondent banks, logistics partners, and other external entities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support to clients regarding international cash transactions.
  • Monitor market trends and developments in international cash management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • A minimum of three years of experience in operations, logistics, or inventory management
  • A minimum of three years in a Senior Team Lead or Associate/Assistant Managerial role
  • Proven ability in decision-making, considering relevant factors and implications to drive positive outcomes.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours:

This is a full-time role. Workdays are Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
