Maintenance Services Associate

Position Overview:
The Maintenance Attendant is tasked with executing a diverse range of repairs and services to properties, grounds, and equipment managed by Victoria Park Community Homes, ensuring safety and security at all times.
Compensation:
Salary ranges from $50,000 to $62,858.

Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and fulfill resident maintenance requests as needed.
- Deliver various notices and communications to residents on-site when required.
- Conduct daily inspections of the property, including mechanical rooms, common areas, and stairwells, to identify issues and initiate corrective measures.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on buildings and equipment as directed by the Property Manager, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
- Schedule and oversee ongoing maintenance activities.
- Prepare vacant units for new residents.
- Coordinate with landscaping contractors to ensure proper maintenance of the grounds.
- Regularly check garbage compactor rooms and assist in maintaining cleanliness.
- Remove litter and empty garbage bins from common areas daily.
- Diagnose and report major faults in electrical, heating, cooling, and safety systems to the Building Manager.
- Safely operate and maintain all tools and equipment necessary for job performance.
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies, notifying the Property Manager when restocking is needed.
- Assist with snow removal and salting as necessary.
- Identify maintenance supplies and equipment needs for building operations.
- Conduct annual testing of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and monthly inspections of fire panels, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Organize and prioritize work based on directives from the Manager.
- Perform additional related duties as outlined in the job summary.
Qualifications:
- Dependable with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in maintaining and repairing building systems.
- Experience in the maintenance of residential and high-rise properties.
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent.
- Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR, with training provided by the employer.
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Class G Ontario Driver's license.
- Regular use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to pass a police clearance check.
- Willingness to work 35 hours per week, with occasional overtime as needed.
