Job Summary

STINGRAY LOGISTICS INC is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our freight company, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Analyze and optimize our daily operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor Department Performance: Track and measure the performance of our logistics department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to ensure the smooth operation of our daily logistics activities.
  • Plan for Changes to Schedules and Policies: Anticipate and prepare for changes to schedules and policies, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Recruit and Supervise Staff: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of 11-15 staff members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Arrange for Shipping Documentation and Tracking: Coordinate the preparation and submission of shipping documentation, as well as the tracking and tracing of goods in transit.
  • Ensure Transport Compliance: Ensure that all transportation activities are in compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Establish and Implement Policies: Develop and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Negotiate for Services and Rates: Negotiate with suppliers and service providers to secure the best possible rates and services.
  • Oversee Scheduling and Dispatching: Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Monitor Revenue: Track and analyze revenue, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as logistics or transportation management.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, requiring a valid driver's license and a willingness to travel. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a large caseload and workload.
