Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Absence and Disability Management Specialist to join our team at Element Fleet. As a key member of our People Services team, you will be responsible for the daily operations of Absence Management, ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Administration: Manage all aspects of the claims administration process, including extended leave requests and return-to-work plans.
  • Employee Support: Serve as the key resource for questions and assistance relating to employee extended absences, providing support to employees, managers, and HR Business Partners.
  • Policy Development: Collaborate with the Director of People Services to develop and document new policies and procedures in alignment with company policies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including managers in other departments, to ensure consistency of processes throughout the organization.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Prepare metrics and absence reports for senior leadership, providing insights to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in absence and disability management in Canada, with a strong understanding of Canadian Human Rights Legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policy interpretation, adjudication, and explanation to stakeholders.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and accountability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
