About the Opportunity

HUB International is seeking a highly skilled Associate Consultant to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our Employee Benefits Consulting Practice, you will work with organizations of all sizes and industries to provide expert advice on absence and disability management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement absence and disability management strategies for clients
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of disability contracts and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues to execute complex consulting strategies and mandates
  • Develop and implement tools for disability management consulting
  • Provide expert guidance on complex disability claims scenarios to clients and colleagues
  • Conduct process, policy, and claims audits to identify areas for improvement
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects from start to finish with a strategic mindset
  • Develop actionable strategies and operational efficiencies based on data analysis
  • Communicate effectively with clients via virtual meetings, emails, and in-person sessions
  • Facilitate client meetings, create agendas, document notes, and follow through on action items
  • Keep projects on track to meet client objectives
  • Develop tools and templates to streamline processes internally
  • Prepare client-facing reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with vendors and insurance carriers to execute targeted programs
  • Maintain and update client files within our internal network
  • Work collaboratively with the national team on client projects
  • Conduct industry research on absence and disability management trends
  • Peer review and provide feedback on team documents
  • Assist with special projects as required
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in absence and disability management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in case management within insurance or a third-party provider
  • Proven experience in case management, particularly with STD, LTD, and salary continuance
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Strong analytical, creative, strategic, and integrative skills
  • Advanced data analysis and interpretation capabilities, with the ability to derive actionable insights
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to deliver high-quality client work efficiently and accurately
  • Proficient in presentation delivery
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Growth-oriented mindset, open to feedback and ongoing development
  • Adaptability and quick learning in a changing organization
  • Excellent customer service skills with clients, vendors, and insurers
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in absence and disability management
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive and positive approach
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong teamwork abilities and self-motivation
  • Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)
