Your Role

We are looking for a proactive, motivated, and collaborative Project Manager to become an integral part of our Yukon team.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with clients to offer strategic insights and enjoy the fulfilling opportunity to effect meaningful change through projects that improve access to housing, clean water, education, and community infrastructure. Our team is dedicated to enhancing outcomes in the communities we serve while promoting reconciliation, economic participation, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exemplify company values and cultural behaviors.
  • Mentor and empower Assistant Project Managers (APMs) involved in your projects.
  • Cultivate a personal brand grounded in your expertise and enthusiasm.
  • Collaborate with diverse client groups across public and private sectors, including Indigenous Governing Bodies, community organizations, local authorities, and government entities.
  • Engage directly with community leaders and stakeholders to strategize and execute capital building and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Assist Indigenous communities and local authorities in fostering economic growth through strategic land and business development.
  • Aid in emergency preparedness and recovery planning for Indigenous communities and local authorities in the wake of climate-related disasters.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted team member and subject matter expert in contractual matters.
  • Oversee project initiation, execution, monitoring, reporting, and closure.
  • Lead and coordinate project teams towards shared objectives, clarifying authority levels and communication lines.
  • Provide project status updates through progress reports, meeting minutes, and other communications.
  • Facilitate project and site meetings.
  • Utilize your communication skills to comprehend complex technical terminology.
  • Maintain robust relationships with current and prospective clients, responding to new business opportunities with support from the Business Development Team.
  • Earn the trust of clients who rely on your knowledge and expertise to achieve their objectives.
  • Impress clients with your ability to advocate for their interests in contractual and technical matters.
  • Support project teams in managing change and coordinating among multiple partners and stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in capital project management.
  • A degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or construction management (or a related field).
  • Demonstrated alignment with company values and cultural behaviors.
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Management methodologies and experience in a PMO setting.
  • Familiarity with building codes, contracts, regulations, and construction ethics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various design and construction methodologies, project management frameworks, financial management, contract law, and relevant legislation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Strong client and people management abilities, capable of influencing others and resolving diverse commercial, interpersonal, and technical challenges.
  • Proven ability to foster harmonious relationships with both internal and external project team members.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CET, RA, or similar recognized designations are preferred.
  • Experience working respectfully in cross-cultural environments, particularly with Indigenous communities, is highly valued.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining long-term client relationships and collaborating with Local Governments and First Nations is a significant asset.

What You Can Expect:

  • An opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our communities.
  • A flexible working environment.
  • A thorough onboarding experience.
  • Extensive professional development, training, and mentorship opportunities.
  • A paid volunteer day.
  • An inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued, regardless of their differences.
