Overview

The Director of Equipment plays a vital role in ensuring the successful planning and procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment for Windsor Regional Hospital. This position is crucial for integrating operational, clinical, and organizational expertise into every stage of the process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all equipment-related activities and projects across Windsor Regional Hospital.
  • Lead major equipment planning initiatives for the New Windsor / Essex Acute Care Hospital Project, ensuring accountability and adherence to project goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements and prepare comprehensive reports for approvals.
  • Coordinate closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of equipment planning activities.
  • Align equipment planning strategies with the organization's vision, design principles, and operational objectives.
  • Oversee project documentation, budgets, and financial management for all equipment-related projects.
  • Educate hospital users on equipment planning processes, implications, and best practices.
  • Provide timely reports and resources to project committees and leadership.
  • Chair the Equipment Planning Steering Sub-Committee to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Promote best practices and a culture of work/life balance in the design of the new hospital environment.
  • Manage external consultants effectively to ensure project progress, compliance, and adherence to standards.
  • Monitor project schedules diligently, addressing any issues that may impact timelines or deliverables.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to integrate equipment operational processes seamlessly into existing workflows.
  • Resolve project-related issues promptly and ensure adherence to established regulations and standards.
  • Develop comprehensive frameworks for project implementation, asset management, and ongoing maintenance.
