Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Personal Care Attendant to join our team at Heffermans Guest Home. As a Personal Care Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, while maintaining their dignity and respect.
  • Medical Support: Take vital signs, administer medications, and provide basic first aid as needed.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing tasks such as bed making, laundry, and cleaning.
  • Companionship: Engage residents in activities, provide emotional support, and promote social interaction.
  • Communication: Maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff, and respond to emergencies.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and other relevant certifications.
  • Personal Qualities: Compassion, empathy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position with 35 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and service to our residents.
