About the Role

Momentum Developmental Support Corporation is seeking a skilled Developmental Support Worker to join our team. As a Developmental Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Life Skills Workshops: Develop and implement life skills workshops to support individuals in achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being.
  • Housekeeping and Food Preparation: Assist with housekeeping activities and food preparation to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals in times of need.
  • Supervise Activities: Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assist with Special Needs: Assist clients/guests with special needs in daily activities and provide support as needed.
  • Evaluate Work Environments: Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure the health and well-being of clients and staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Transportation: Own transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work environment with the ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
