About the Role

Mercer is seeking a highly skilled Pension Administration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our pension administration Centre of Excellence, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administration services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate pension benefits and prepare statements resulting from various events, including termination of employment, retirement, death, marriage breakdown, transfer, etc.
  • Update client databases with accurate and timely information, utilizing various systems and databases to ensure data integrity.
  • Prepare annual statements for plan members and annual information returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Understand the provisions of pension plans and applicable laws, providing expert advice to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Calculate pension adjustments, reversals, and past service pension adjustments, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Respond to client and member inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Administer complex pension plans, including flexible plans, executive plans, and hybrid plans, requiring strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Participate in special projects, such as plan termination, early-retirement programs, pension indexation, and implementation of new plan provisions.
Requirements
  • Bilingual (French & English) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, actuarial science, mathematics, or business administration.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to work in teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • 1-3 years of pensions experience, with prior experience working with defined benefit pension plans and in an actuarial firm.
