Job Summary

The Commission Scolaire Central Quebec / Central Quebec School Board is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Technician to join our team. As a Special Education Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration and Support
    • Work closely with the teaching team, families, and external resources to provide targeted support for students with special needs.
    • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Instructional Support
    • Provide direct academic support, particularly in basic skills, lessons, and homework.
    • Develop and lead diversified activities to reinforce various student competencies.
  • Behavioral Support
    • Adopt a proactive approach to supporting students in their adaptation and behavioral management.
    • Use optimal and adapted communication techniques to support students with diverse needs.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Rigorously document observations and interventions.
    • Keep student files up to date and prepare detailed reports.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Guide and train new team members.
    • Supervise support staff tasks related to technical operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., special education, education, psychology) an asset.
  • Experience working with students with special needs an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
