We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Originator to join our Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for originating and underwriting transactions for income-producing commercial properties, from initial deal sourcing to securitization and funding.
Key Responsibilities- Originate and underwrite income-producing commercial properties with a CMBS/Capital Markets perspective for ultimate securitization
- Build and maintain relationships with internal partners, rating agencies, and industry partners
- Re-underwrite commercial mortgages on RBC's balance sheet for contribution to securitization pools
- Contribute to initiatives to launch/improve the commercial mortgage securitization process
- Participate in industry events to stay current on real estate market trends
- 3+ years of experience in commercial mortgages (underwriting, documentation, servicing, or securitization)
- Understanding and knowledge of commercial real estate markets, including multiple property types and CMBS requirements
- Strong attention to detail, financial, and analytical skills
- Ability to build relationships and work well with internal and external partners
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills
