Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Communications Specialist to join our team at the Parliament of Canada. As a Constituency Liaison – Digital Engagement, you will play a key role in managing and enhancing our social media strategy, developing and implementing external communications, and supporting our Member's advertising strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and Enhance Social Media Presence
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms to engage with constituents and promote the Member's work.
    • Monitor and respond to online inquiries and comments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and Implement External Communications
    • Design and create engaging content for social media, press releases, website news, blog posts, articles, and newsletters.
    • Collaborate with the constituency team to develop and implement a communications plan that meets the Member's goals and objectives.
  • Support Member's Advertising Strategy
    • Assist in developing and implementing a advertising strategy that meets the Member's budget constraints.
    • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Constituency Team
    • Work closely with the constituency team to address constituents' concerns and inquiries effectively.
    • Provide support and guidance to the team on digital communications and social media best practices.
  • Organize Community Events and Outreach Activities
    • Assist in planning and coordinating community events, outreach activities, and official visits.
    • Develop and implement a plan to engage with constituents and promote the Member's work in the community.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Experience in an office setting providing communications and media support.
    • Knowledge of media relations, Canadian politics, current events, and environmental factors affecting the political landscape.
  • Skills
    • Proven track record in managing a brand on various social media platforms.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Assets
  • Previous Experience
    • Previous involvement with political organizations at different levels.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Experience in event planning and project coordination.
    • Proficiency in French or Portuguese.
