Job Summary:

The Asset Protection Specialist Supervisor (APSS) is responsible for preventing financial loss caused by property vandalism, traditional theft, and fraud, organized retail crime, and connected retail fraud within their assigned district. They will assist the District Asset Protection Manager (AAPM) with internal investigations, AP walks, assist CIT (Central Investigations) with high-level organized crime, and maintain their own external productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, lead, develop, and coach Asset Protection Specialists to ensure they are equipped to prevent and detect loss.

• Maintain physical security requirements of stores, including hands-on apprehensions, to protect company assets and prevent loss.

• Analyze shrink performance to identify trends in theft and fraud, organized retail crime, and connected fraud, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.

• Monitor associate behaviors and operational issues through exception-based reporting and CCTV to identify potential security threats.

• Identify shrink or other profit erosion opportunities and immediately inform the MAPM (Market Asset Protection Manager) to ensure prompt action is taken to prevent further loss.

• Support with identifying and investigating matters of internal dishonest activity, such as employee theft or misconduct, to maintain a secure and trustworthy work environment.

• Keep the store leadership and district team informed of criminal activity to ensure a coordinated response and minimize risk.

• Execute AP rollouts, including camera installations and merchandise protection updates, to enhance store security and prevent loss.

• Assist Central Investigators to coordinate investigations identified as Organized Retail Crime to ensure a thorough and effective response to these complex threats.

• Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner for police, HR, and other stakeholders as required.

• Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify as warranted to support the company's interests and protect its assets.

• Perform quarterly store walks to assess security measures and identify areas for improvement.

• Support stores and recommend solutions to improve associate engagement related to Loss Prevention to ensure a secure and productive work environment.

Requirements:

• 3 years of Loss Prevention or Asset Protection experience, with a strong understanding of retail security principles and practices.

• 1 year of supervisory or team-lead experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and developing talent.

• Ability to travel (including occasional overnights) 10-20% of the time, with access to a vehicle required for multi-store responsibilities.

• Must be at or above district apprehension productivity to ensure effective loss prevention and asset protection.

• Must possess a valid security license for the province of employment to ensure compliance with local regulations.

• Must be proficient with CCTV systems and exception-based reporting to effectively monitor and respond to security threats.

• Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive and controversial issues, with the ability to build strong relationships with associates, managers, and external partners.

• Strong analytical and financial analysis skills to identify trends and develop strategies to mitigate loss and improve productivity.

• Ability to teach, train, and coach associates to drive change and execute process improvements to enhance store security and prevent loss.
