Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in facilities management or construction in a supervisory capacity. Proficiency in building infrastructure maintenance, preventative maintenance for building systems and equipment, as well as experience in supervising renovation and construction projects is essential. Familiarity with computerized work order systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

A 2-year diploma in Engineering Technology (Civil or Electronics) is mandatory, along with certification from the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. Alternatively, a licensed Journeyman tradesperson with a Provincial Certificate of qualification under the Occupational Certification Act may be considered, provided they have relevant experience.

Advanced written and spoken English proficiency is required.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Facilities Management

  • Assigning, supervising, and coordinating tasks through the work order system
  • Overseeing the preventive maintenance program
  • Managing internal renovation and construction projects
  • Collaborating with contractors and other stakeholders
  • Reviewing daily work plans from contractors and monitoring building access
  • Communicating with various departments to address issues and expedite work
  • Evaluating and recommending purchases of supplies and equipment
  • Participating in the recruitment and performance evaluation processes
