About the Role

Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS) is seeking a seasoned executive to lead our Client Services and Business Development team. As the Senior Vice President, Client Services and Business Development, you will be responsible for driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct the Employer Services, Member Services Centre, Client Operations, Pensions Policy, and Actuarial departments to ensure service level standards and business operations exceed established metrics and targets.
  • Support the implementation of client strategies for member, employer, and pensioner services.
  • Manage the collection and preparation of information to address the administrative impacts, costs, and timing of potential plan rule changes.
  • Collaborate with APS staff, Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, and pension plan staff to document proposed plan rule changes.
  • Act as the chief steward and innovation channel for team operations, cultivating a high-performance, collaborative environment where contributions are recognized.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles, demonstrating a vision-oriented mindset and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong strategic leadership, planning, and execution skills, with a focus on risk management.
  • Effective management of relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Key competencies include visionary and organizational awareness, problem-solving, and managing change.
  • Financial acumen and the ability to manage strategic finance processes.
Education and Experience
  • Master's Degree with 5-10 years of experience in senior leadership roles, leading large teams in complex operational and business environments, or
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10-15 years in senior leadership roles, leading large teams in complex operational and business environments.
