About the SME & Growth Business TeamThe SME & Growth Business team at Airwallex is a collaborative and passionate group of professionals dedicated to empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to thrive in the global economy. We combine deep financial expertise with a growth mindset, working closely with our clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored solutions that streamline cross-border payments and unlock new revenue streams.
Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced leader to join our team as the Head of SME & Growth, Canada. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for driving growth and scaling our Canadian business exponentially. You'll lead the team responsible for acquiring, retaining, and monetizing our customers in Canada, and collaborate with commercial and strategy leaders to drive growth initiatives across the customer lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Build, lead, and coach the SMB and Mid-Market sales teams in Canada.
- Drive growth and help scale our Canadian business exponentially.
- Collaborate with commercial and strategy leaders to drive growth initiatives that involve all aspects of the customer lifecycle.
- Leverage your expertise in building multi-functional, multi-channel customer acquisition operations.
- Help define the key verticals, positioning, and value proposition of our products to drive growth.
- Partner with Americas and Global Marketing to strategize and execute effective customer acquisition campaigns.
- Build channel partnerships with local vendors.
- Work closely with other regions and the global Product team to build the right user experience and tools to drive exponential growth.
- Balance vision setting and rigorous execution.
- Represent Airwallex as the prominent representative of the SME business segment in Canada.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in go-to-market teams, with 5 years of managing go-to-market teams of at least 10 people.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Business).
- Payments industry background highly desirable.
- Experience in high-volume growth in the Business-to-Business sales space.
- Evidence of success in growing a customer base from the ground up.
- Experience being a Player/Coach and enjoying individual contributor work along with being a team lead.
- Creativity and data-driven approach to growth strategies.
