Exciting Career Opportunity:

Schlegel Villages is seeking a dedicated Permanent Part-Time Recreation Support Specialist to enhance the lives of our residents. This role involves working 30 hours bi-weekly, including every other weekend, to foster a vibrant community atmosphere.

Work Schedule:

  • 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • 12:30 PM - 7:00 PM

As a Recreation Support Specialist, you will collaborate with an experienced team member to ensure a smooth integration into our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and nurture a resident-focused social environment
  • Implement and oversee engaging recreational programs
  • Act as an advocate for the needs and preferences of residents

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies or gerontology
  • A strong alignment with the values and philosophy of our community
  • A compassionate and respectful demeanor

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Therapeutic Recreation principles
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy methodologies
  • Understanding of the Long-Term Care Homes Act
