Psychiatric Assessment Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Assessment Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at St. Paul's Hospital. As a Psychiatric Assessment Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing culturally safe and trauma-informed care to individuals presenting with mental health and/or substance use issues.
About the Role:- Provide urgent, intensive assessments, crisis intervention, and stabilization for patients in the Emergency Department
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including emergency physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, and social workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Act as a clinical resource to nursing staff and provide guidance on mental health and substance use issues
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to mental health care
- Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant
- Three years of recent related experience in clinical specialty, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to supervise and lead a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
