Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Assessment Nurse to join our Acute Behavioural Stabilization Unit (ABSU) team at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide urgent, intensive assessments, crisis intervention, and stabilization for patients presenting with mental health and/or substance use issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental health and substance use needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to address patients' needs
  • Collaborate with emergency physicians, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN/RPN registrant
  • Three years of recent related experience in clinical specialty, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
