Key Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Tailors program components to align with the requirements of designated prescribing healthcare professionals.
  • Ensures compliance with nursing practice standards set by the relevant regulatory body.
  • Assists in patient enrollment by reviewing their status and preparing necessary documentation for coverage requests.
  • Continuously evaluates programs and offers recommendations to improve service quality and outcomes.
  • Completes all necessary reports related to program activities and expenses.

Patient Assistance

  • Greets patients and collects essential information for program participation.
  • Provides therapy guidelines to both patients and healthcare providers.
  • Coordinates patient services to ensure timely access to therapies based on performance indicators.
  • Manages coverage activities with insurers in accordance with established protocols.
  • Follows up with patients regarding reimbursement outcomes.
  • Guides patients through financial assistance options.
  • Facilitates pharmacy selection and coordinates medication delivery.
  • Supports patients in therapy coordination and ongoing monitoring.
  • Reports any adverse events in accordance with established procedures.
  • Identifies barriers to coverage and communicates these to the program management team.

Mentorship and Support

  • Assists in the training and development of new Field Case Managers as required.
  • Provides ongoing support to colleagues through regular communication.
  • Maintains positive relationships with the Patient Support team.
  • Delivers timely information to patients and clinics as needed.

Client Engagement

  • Participates in meetings with key opinion leaders and sales representatives.
  • Builds strong relationships with healthcare professionals and their office staff to ensure seamless patient management.
  • Proactively addresses client concerns related to assigned healthcare providers.
  • Attends educational events and shares insights on new developments.
  • Conducts presentations to healthcare professionals in collaboration with sales representatives.
  • Acts as a liaison, providing feedback to the Patient Assistance Program based on field observations.
  • Maintains communication with program management, healthcare professionals, and patients as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Completes all required reports including timesheets and expenses.
  • May be assigned additional tasks as needed.
  • Availability for on-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration.
  • Preferred experience in case management.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience in a clinical environment is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated area, including potential overnight stays.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification may be necessary based on the program's therapeutic focus.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regional travel.
  • Experience in various therapeutic areas is beneficial.
  • Typically requires five years of experience in reimbursement or pharmaceutical sales, managed care, or clinical support.
  • Background in business administration or pharmaceutical sales is an asset.
  • Understanding of reimbursement structures and processes is advantageous.
  • Experience with reimbursement navigation and special authorization processes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret regulations and legislation are essential.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French may be necessary based on program needs.
