Position Overview

This role is integral in delivering outreach services throughout the province. A valid driver's license is essential for this position.

The Senior Physiotherapist is responsible for delivering therapeutic, clinical, diagnostic, and preventive services to clients, families, and the community. This position aims to develop practical solutions for the daily challenges faced by clients in their various environments. Utilizing extensive knowledge in musculoskeletal development, human movement biomechanics, kinesiology, pathology, cardiorespiratory function, and neurology, the Senior Physiotherapist plays a crucial role in program development and engages in educational and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive Physiotherapy assessments using advanced skills and clinical reasoning within the designated area.
  • Develops and implements tailored Physiotherapy treatment programs for clients, employing innovative solutions to address assessment and treatment challenges.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of clinical data, assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and care plans.
  • Evaluates the need for specific client equipment and assists clients and families in obtaining necessary resources, including communication with relevant agencies.
  • Fosters effective communication with clients, families, and caregivers to promote optimal client progress through supportive and collaborative relationships.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy or Rehabilitation Sciences and/or licensure with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC).
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience, including one year with the designated patient population.
  • Completion of 50 hours of postgraduate coursework related to additional procedures or techniques relevant to the assigned area.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in various settings, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload in collaboration with others.
  • Ability to function as a motivating team member and facilitator.
  • Expertise in providing effective consultations and developing educational materials.
  • Commitment to understanding and integrating legislative obligations and provincial commitments related to Indigenous rights and reconciliation.
