Director of Technology and Information Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Technology and Information Services to join our team at School District #40 (New Westminster). As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technology solutions that support the district's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and vision for developing district technology and information services
- Define, deliver, and manage a cost-effective, reliable TIS infrastructure and architecture
- Continually review existing services and anticipate rapid changes in information technology
- Design, develop, and implement new services that reflect best practices
- Oversee the design and construction of new systems and applications
- Supervise and support the work of all Technology and Information Services staff
- Develop and implement a strategic Information Technology Plan for all users of the District
- Manage the Information Technology and Information Services budget and expenditures
- Negotiate with software and hardware vendors on pricing and terms and conditions for major acquisitions and renewals of software and hardware contracts
- Research and implement leading edge educational software and technologies to support student needs
- Manage the primary contractors delivering new systems
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant post-secondary education, or equivalent of education and work experience
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a public sector or large complex organization
- Considerable experience and success with integrating new technologies and methodologies into a large organization
