Job Summary:

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in the Core Laboratory. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and advanced test procedures, ensuring the efficient functioning of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, hematology, and biochemistry
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program
  • Current or eligible for registration with the Canadian Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO) in the disciplines of Blood Bank, Hematology, and Biochemistry
  • At least two years of recent technical experience in a core laboratory
  • Working knowledge of laboratory information systems and personal computer applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
