Job Summary:
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in the Anatomical Pathology department. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and advanced test procedures to ensure the efficient functioning of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including histology, to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including microscopes and automated analyzers.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow and efficient use of resources.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest laboratory techniques and technologies.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in Histology.
- At least two years of current technical experience in histology, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications.
- Ability to exercise initiative in problem-solving and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Mature, flexible, and organized with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
