About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Casualty Claims Analyst II to join our team at AIG. As a key member of our claims team, you will play a critical role in managing and resolving commercial casualty claims in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review casualty claims in conjunction with policy wordings to determine coverage and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide direction to adjusters on the investigation of claims, ensuring that all necessary information is gathered and documented.
  • Prepare disclaimer and/or reservation of rights letters and communicate with underwriters, brokers, and insureds as necessary.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to bring about appropriate resolution of claims, ensuring that all parties are informed and involved throughout the process.
  • Ensure compliance with our litigation guidelines and participate in mediation/ADR processes to resolve claims.
  • Negotiate settlements directly with insureds and other parties, ensuring that all agreements are fair and reasonable.
  • Issue payments in a timely manner, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and filed.
  • Operate within our best practices guidelines, including timely reserve review, notes, payment requests, and electronic diary management.
  • Inform management of all complaints, large losses, coverage issues, and other relevant matters.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience handling commercial casualty claims.
  • College/University degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ability to make decisions and give directions to adjusters and/or counsel.
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient computer skills, with the ability to navigate our paperless claim file system.
