About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to join our team at NEW ISLAND CHINESE AND JAPANESE RESTAURANT INC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budgeting and Cost Control

Develop and manage budgets to determine the cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies, ensuring optimal profitability for the restaurant.

Menu Planning and Pricing

Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant's budget, taking into account customer preferences and market trends.

Revenue Management

Monitor revenues to determine labor costs, making adjustments as needed to maintain profitability.

Operations Planning

Plan and organize daily operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.

Staff Management

Recruit, train, and manage staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service.

Customer Service

Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Event Management

Plan and execute events, such as catering and private functions, to meet customer needs and increase revenue.

Work Environment

The Restaurant Operations Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and a large workload. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements
  • Education

College or CEGEP diploma in a related field, such as hospitality or business.

Experience

At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in budgeting, menu planning, and staff management.

Language

Fluency in English is required, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
