We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director of the British Columbia Therapeutic Recreation Association (BCTRA). As the sole staff member, you will be responsible for advancing the profession of Therapeutic Recreation in British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the vision, mission, and strategic plan for BCTRA.
- Operational Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive operational plans with specific objectives and activities aligned with BCTRA's strategic goals and budget.
- Membership Management: Oversee membership management, including recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies.
- Financial Planning and Management: Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring BCTRA operates within budget guidelines.
- Advocacy, Promotions and Public Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with community groups, unions, members, politicians, and educational institutions to advance BCTRA's goals.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit association or a related sector, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, project management and organizational skills.
- Flexible Schedule: Virtual office environment with flexible work hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Competitive Compensation: $35.00-$40.00 per hour.
