Faculty Position in Nucleic Acid Based Nanomedicine

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia. The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment between the two departments at the rank of Associate Professor, Tenure or Professor, Tenure.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will be expected to establish a field-defining research and training program that merges principles and techniques of biochemistry/molecular biology and engineering at the forefront of nanomedicines and cellular therapeutics. The candidate will be expected to concentrate on addressing emerging needs in diverse areas such as vaccine development, or treatment of cancer, blood disorders, or genetic diseases.
Responsibilities- Establish a field-defining research and training program
- Concentrate on addressing emerging needs in diverse areas
- Teach undergraduate and graduate students
- Collaborate with other researchers across the University's Vancouver and Okanagan campuses
- Provide service to the University and the broader community
The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or a related field. The ability of the candidate to become licensed as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of British Columbia is viewed as an asset.
What We OfferThe University of British Columbia offers a competitive salary range of $160,000-$180,000 at the rank of Associate Professor and $180,000-220,000 at the rank of Professor. The Faculty of Medicine is committed to offering equitable and competitive salaries, commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
