About the Opportunity

The University of Toronto's Department of Psychiatry invites applications for the position of Director of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry. This esteemed role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of distinguished academics and clinicians in advancing quality mental health care across the life span.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to enhance the Division's research, clinical training, and education programs.
  • Foster collaboration among affiliated hospitals and promote inter-professional practice.
  • Recruit, retain, and promote productive faculty members, securing external grant funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Provide outstanding training and mentorship to students, residents, and fellows.

Requirements

Candidates must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. A demonstrated record of excellence in research, clinical training, and education, or creative professional activity, is essential.

What We Offer

This position is supported as a 1/2 day per week commitment for a 3-year term, renewable once for up to 5 years. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the University's mission of advancing knowledge and improving lives.
