Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Geriatric Inpatient team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our geriatric patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to geriatric patients, including assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of patient health.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Utilize clinical expertise to manage patients with a variety of mental health conditions and provide counseling skills to support patients and families.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Certification in Crisis Intervention by Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Geriatric Psychiatry experience.
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
