Job Summary:

The Nursing Resource Team at Baycrest Hospital provides exceptional geriatric care across various programs, including rehabilitation, complex continuing care, palliative care, in-patient psychiatry, behavioural neurology, and transitional care. This dynamic opportunity allows nurses to practice and hone their clinical and organizational skills in a variety of care settings, while supporting the broader needs and demands of the organization.

This role is ideal for motivated, adaptable critical thinkers who are passionate about geriatric care. Our Nursing Resource Team staff are well-respected for their role within the Hospital community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills, acts as a clinical expert and resource, and delivers comprehensive, quality client/family-centered health care services from admission through transfers and discharge.
  • Plans for, delivers, and evaluates nursing interventions, including medication administration and treatments within the RN's scope of practice.
  • Provides client-centered care within an interdisciplinary care team to meet the personal care, activation, recreation, and spiritual needs of clients, supporting their return to baseline functioning and discharge to the community.
Qualifications:
  • Current registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate, Level C - Automated External Device is required.
  • BScN preferred.
  • Previous geriatric experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to take professional accountability for leading, organizing, providing, and delegating care activities for the unit, clients, and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills - Meditech, Microsoft Word, and Excel, RM&R Resource Matching and Referral preferred.
