Overview of the Role:
Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a committed Facility Supervisor to enhance our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, the Facility Supervisor will play a pivotal role in managing and directing personnel and subcontractors across various Facility Management Operations (FMO) accounts. The primary responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and aligning strategic goals for facility management operations
- Overseeing work orders and coordinating tasks for maintenance personnel
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop work plans and perform risk evaluations
- Ensuring that training and certification standards are fulfilled for all staff
- Implementing effective solutions for operational challenges within facilities
- Supervising the activities of subcontractors and maintenance staff
- Engaging in client meetings and compliance audits
- Maintaining adherence to health and safety regulations
- Monitoring vendor performance and ensuring contract compliance
- Providing mentorship and training for team members
- Conducting quality assurance evaluations
Required Competencies:
- Proficiency in relevant software applications and management tools
- Strong analytical abilities and effective time management skills
- Knowledge of Facility Management processes and industry standards
- Exceptional communication and customer service capabilities
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed
- Clear Police Reference Check is mandatory
Educational Background:
- A university degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline
- Experience in the facilities sector may be considered in lieu of formal education
Experience Requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience in Building Operations
- Possession of a trade license and FMP/FMA certification is advantageous
Additional Skills and Requirements:
- Willingness to travel within the designated area
- Ability to obtain security clearance for reliability or secret status
