Job Summary:

The Canadian Red Cross is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in coordinating the daily activities of our medical equipment loan program, including the HELP program and the specialized equipment program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the ergotherapist in coordinating daily activities, including the HELP program, and participate in the cleaning of medical equipment as needed.
  • Act as an intermediary with long-term care facilities and hospitals regarding equipment loans, including delivery and pickup, and establish relationships within these facilities.
  • Maintain records of loans and returns and compile related statistics in accordance with program procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate administrative responsibilities, including ensuring timely and accurate communication with the public.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education or diploma in a health-related field, with one to two years of relevant professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in healthcare, customer service, or administration.
  • Experience as an assistant in ergotherapy or rehabilitation is an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and organize multiple activities in a complex customer-service-focused environment.
  • Strong decision-making skills, combined with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer and administrative skills.
  • Previous experience working with volunteers or with seniors is an asset.
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy loads.

Working Conditions:

  • Valid driver's license in Nova Scotia and a satisfactory driving record.
