Position Overview

Role Summary

Global Functions Technology (GFT) operates within the Technology and Operations sector of RBC. Our influence extends across the organization as we partner with various departments to provide cutting-edge and transformative IT solutions. Our clientele spans Risk, Finance, Human Resources, Chief Administrative Office, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. Additionally, we spearhead the creation of digital tools and platforms to foster enhanced collaboration.

We are in search of a dedicated Senior Software Developer to oversee AML IT applications, possessing solid experience in Python and Unix. Our focus also includes the advancement of digital tools and platforms to facilitate collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in hands-on application design, coding, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with business partners to deliver solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance by sharing extensive knowledge and expertise.
  • Uphold code quality and best practices throughout the technology stack.
  • Support and maintain the team’s application suites across diverse technical infrastructures and architectures.
  • Ensure system reliability and lead disaster recovery planning while promoting the adoption of emerging technologies within your area of expertise.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Python development.
  • Proficiency with databases, including SQL, with a focus on query optimization.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools for application delivery.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in SRE or ITIL service management.
  • Knowledge of creating Dynatrace dashboards.
