Role Overview

As Wise continues to integrate into the global financial landscape, we face increasing oversight from regulatory bodies, partners, and local stakeholders. Success in this role means positioning Wise as a leader in compliance within a highly regulated environment.

In your capacity as the Regional Information Security Officer for the APAC region, you will act as the representative of the Wise Security Squad, fostering robust collaborations with our legal entities in APAC to mitigate Information Security and Technology risks in accordance with market expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate closely with regional risk, compliance, and engineering teams to deliver a customized risk assessment for APAC legal entities.
  2. Lead security initiatives for regional licensing applications, annual certifications, and various audits.
  3. Assist in the Group Security Risk assessment process and prepare risk updates for APAC entity committees and boards.
  4. Assess Wise Group Security controls against regional regulatory requirements and obligations.
  5. Support our global security certification efforts (e.g., ISO27001, PCI-DSS, SOC1 & 2).
  6. Engage in additional Information Security and Technology risk-related tasks as necessary.
Qualifications

This position will significantly impact the security risk posture of Wise's regional entities. We recognize that it is rare for candidates to possess all the desired skills, and we encourage learning and development.

  1. Extensive experience in Information Security or Technology Risk Management.
  2. Strong understanding of the APAC Financial Services regulatory framework. Previous experience working with regulators is advantageous.
  3. Relevant Information Security Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC).
  4. Proven ability to cultivate lasting relationships within a complex international organization.
  5. Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into business language.
  6. Proven track record of achieving results through collaboration and partnership with diverse teams.

The individual in this role will be recognized as an Accountable Person under the APRA Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) and may be required to travel for regulatory meetings.
